What About Parnassa in Israel? 5 Tips to Make your Aliyah Succeed with Little Money!

Follow us

We all know Parnassa (sustenance) is one of the main concerns of Olim Chadashim before moving to Israel. “How am I going to make it in Israel?” and “How am I going to work in Israel?”, are one of the most frequently asked questions. And that’s perfectly understandable. Going to live in any new country is not easy. There are a lot of uncertainties to manage and a lot of concerns to be addressed.

The truth is, Israel is one of the countries that came out the best after the COVID-19 crisis, and almost all of the economy is already back on the path of recovery. It boasts one of the strongest high-tech markets, is home to the highest number of start-ups per capita, and has one of the best income distribution indexes in the world. The job market in Israel is booming and there are plenty of opportunities around in whatever sector you want to work in. Working in Israel has seldom been a problem and people living here can attest to that.

So, even though you may not have the requisite experience or the investment capital for all that and still want to make Aliyah, fear not! Olim Paveway’s team and our mascot Paveman are here to help you out.

Check out 5 tips to make your Aliyah a success even with little money:

1. Be open to something new

That’s right. You may be a lawyer who just graduated and maybe that’s what you will be working for within Israel. But perhaps you might need to take a temporary job in another field like finance or marketing, or you might find an opportunity to develop an awesome new application with an acquaintance.

We never know so keep your head open!

2. Keep in contact with everyone, always!

Contacts in Israel are invaluable, especially when you just made Aliyah!

You might find out that maybe your cousin knows someone who needs your website services. Or, your old employer has an aunt who has a company that is looking for a bookkeeper. Whatever the case, don’t just dismiss getting in contact with people just because at the moment they might not offer you anything.

They may help you find Israel rental apartments, find work in Israel or settle here.

Help in Israel can come in the most unexpected ways since people are more than willing to lend a hand or pass an opportunity forward. We are all kind of family after all!

3. Start small, but aim high

This might be a tough pill to swallow, but it’s not uncommon for people to start working in low-paying jobs here. Someone who might be a big shot in his field might find out that people in Israel are not so impressed by his credentials and offer a less-than-desirable position.

Never fret, though!

This is common, and you will eventually find that pretty much every field has plenty of potential for growth as we explained above. Finding better jobs later is also a lot easier when you are already employed, so don’t be distressed!

4. Seek help and training

Currently, many organizations offer free (or nearly free) training in pretty much any skill you want.

Whether you want to pursue a career in agriculture, tourism, security, high-tech, entrepreneurship, marketing, or anything in between, you are sure to find many free programs, both online and offline that are sure to meet your needs and land you a nice opportunity! You will never be out of work in Israel if you are properly qualified.

This is because the government subsidizes these programs. Be sure to seek them out and make the most out of them, as they also have contacts with companies to easily find you a job when you are done.

5. Never lose Emunah (faith)!

Eretz Israel is the place where God’s hashgacha (divine providence) is the strongest and most visible. It is also a land that teaches us real Emunah for those who strive to settle here. It’s a blessed and wonderful place where we learn to trust God and rely on Him. This is why miracles keep happening on a daily basis, and people are still here despite all the challenges. Despite a few bumps along the road, remember that making Aliyah is truly a great privilege that brings many benefits.

Even if things get tough, don’t worry about the obstacles on the way, be happy, keep your head high and persevere! Whatever path you are choosing, be sure to check out our service providers network with exclusive offers for Paveway Members. Remember you always have a listening ear with Paveway and feel free to ask us anything through our website forms.

Enjoy the ride!
